EURAXESS Rights provides information about the rights and obligations of researchers and their employers. It aims at improving employment and working conditions for researchers throughout Europe by the implementation of the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (C&C) supported by the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers incorporating the Charter & Code (HRS).
The European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (C&C)
The Commission Recommendation on the "European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers" (March, 11th 2005) is a set of general principles and requirements about the roles, responsibilities and entitlements of researchers as well as of employers and/or funders in both public and private sector. The Charter and the Code are planned to develop an attractive, open and sustainable European labour market for researchers. The Charter provides a framework for the career management of researchers and the Code promotes open and transparent recruitment and appraisal procedures.

The Human Resources Strategy for Researchers incorporating the Charter & Code (HRS)
The Human Resources Strategy aims at supporting research institutions and funding organisations in the implementation of the Charter & Code in their policies and practices through a simple mechanism that is put into action on a voluntary basis. By implementing the Human Resources strategy the research institutions will reinforce their attractiveness and increase their visibility towards talented researchers.

RESAVER - A Pan-European Pension Fund
The European Commission is supporting a consortium of employers, through Horizon 2020, in creating a single European pension arrangement (RESAVER) that will offer a defined contribution plan, tailor-made for research organisations and their employees.
RESAVER will be a state of the art retirement savings product that will enable mobile and non-mobile employees to remain affiliated to the same pension vehicle when moving between different countries and changing jobs.
At the same time RESAVER will lower asset management charges and provide better access to high quality investments. It will offer a mosaic approach that includes three uniquely designed vehicles to administer pension contributions and provide individual insurance coverage.
Further information about C&C, HRS and RESAVER can be found at EURAXESS Rights.
